Welcome to host2help.com Web Mail Support
|
Display preferences gives you a lot of freedom about how the web mail appears. This only changes how it looks to you, the mails you send will look the same.
There are several themes - each has a different set of colors, some will be more asethetically pleasing to you than others.
Custom Stylesheet allows you to change the standard font and size, allowing more data to be shown on one page, or allowing the pages to be easier to read.
There are a lot of supplied languages for the main site contents. None of the support pages are available in other languages at this time, and this feature is not supported - if it is helpful to you, please use it, but if it does not behave as you would expect, Host2Help.com Will not be able to help.
Java allows some of the extra functions to work more smoothly, if you do not have it, some of the screens will be more cumbersome. It is safest to leave this on "Auto detect".
You can select how many messages show per page. The higher the number, the slower the time to show you your messages, but you will have to click "Next" and "Prev" less often.
When you enable alternate row colors, you may find it easier to read across the colums of e-Mails then if you have this disabled.
Enabling page selector shows a list of all the pages of e-Mails you have in any given folder, and allows you to jump directly to any given page. With this disabled, you have to use the "Next" and "Prev " links to move through the pages of mail.
If you sleave this at 10, the pages will number 1 through ten, if you have 11 pages, afetr ten is reached, it will show you a link to "Next" so you will still be able to see all of your messages, without a huge list of numbers across the bottom of your screen.
You can always show the full date, as an example, with full date shown, it would say that a message arrived Dec 23, 2008. However, without it shown, it would say Tue, 10:46pm.
Length of From/To Field allows you to select how large the input field is for these items - this does not affect how much information they can hold, just how much they show before scrolling.
Length of Subject Field allows you to select how large the input field is for the subject field - this does not affect how much information it can hold, just how much it shows before scrolling.
Wrapping incomming text sets where the line breaks are. You should only need to change this if you are frequently connecting from a mobile device.
The Width of the editor window should not be changed unless you really need a larger or smaller space (for use on a mobile device, for example).
The Height of the editor window should also not be changed unless you really need to, perhaps for a mobile device.
You can move the location of the Buttons - the buttons are for send, Save Draft, Address and Signature.
Changing the address book display format is a feature 95% of users will never use!
You can select what information is displayed by default in the address book.
Showing html version by default can be a little risky. If spammers embed certain html code into an e-Mail, if you view it like that, you may inadvertantly confirm to the spammer that you recieved the spam - thus proving your mail address is a good one, and pening the door for many more junk mails.
When you forward a mail to someone, you can forward it as an attachment to the new mail you are sending. This can make filing, and following discussion paths a lot easier.
If you include yourself in the CC (Carbon Copy List) when you Reply to All, you will recieve a copy of the mail you sent - can be useful for filing purposes.
We do not know what Enable Mailer Display does at this time.
Displaying attached images with message can lead to nasty suprises! with this unchecked, you will have to click on the image link below the mail to see the image(s)
If you enable a printer friendly clean display, you can easily print e-Mails without wasting ink on background and foreground and font colors.
Mail Delivery Notification will send a notification to you when the recipient recieves the mail - but only if the recipient chooses to send one. If you recieve a reciept, you know they recieved it, but if you do not recieve a reciept, it is not safe to think that they did not recieve it.
Composing messages in new windows is useful if you leave your inbox open whilst online - you will be able to monitor new mails coming in whilst you construct your outgoing mails.
Width anbd height of compose in new window allow you to set the size of the window that opens for your compose window.
Prepend signaturebefore reply/forward text places your signature file at the bottom of your text, above their text. Otherwise your signature is at the very bottom of the e-Mail
Prefix for original message is the character (or characters) that appear before the start of each line in the original message that you are forwarding or replying to. ">" is the standard character to use.
Cursor position is where typing will start if you type before clicking on any input box. Focus in Body is the easiest for most users.
Sorting by date recieved has the newest mails at the top of your list.
Finally, you can select where to place the Delete/Move/Next buttons; Top, or bottom, or both.
When you make any changes here, if you do not click on the "Submit" button in the bottom right corner, the changes will not be saved.
