The Folder options allow you to manage how mail is stored. These changes only apply to web based mail - if you create a folder here, then check your mail through an e-Mail program on your computer such as Microsoft Outlook, you will not see (in Outlook) the folders you created in the web based e-Mail
Special Folders are folders that do a special job. Disabling these is a good idea if disk space is an issue for you, or if you do not often tidy you mailbox up.
Trash folder is a holding folder, when you delete a mail, it is moved to trash, where it remains untile you purcge your trash folder.
Draft folder holds messages that you have started to compose, but has to interrupt - only if you clicked on the "Save Draft" button before closing the window. If you did not do this, your mail that you were composing is lost.
Sent Folder holds a copy of all the message you have sent. This is the folder that most people forget about, and should you run out of disk space, this is the most likley culprit - especially if you send attachments with your e-Mails. If you do not need to keep a copy of sent e-Mails, change this setting to "[Do not use Sent]".
Location of Folder List allows you to move the folder list (on the dark blue background, usually found on the left of the screen) over to the right.
Width of folder list allows you to change the size of the folder list - this allows you to make more room if you have some long folder names that are not showing easily.
Auto Refresh Folder list selects the time between refreshes of the folder list. There is no need to have this faster than the default of 10 minutes.
Enable Unread Message Notification this shows how many unread messages are in a folder - by default only in the Inbox. Changing this to all folders may slow down the web based e-Mail program for your usage. (Depending on how much mail you have in there).
Unread Message Notification type - if this is set to Only unseen you will see a number next to the folder showing how many unseen messages there are. If it is set to unseesn and total, you will see a secondary number showing how many mails there are in total. if there are none, no number will show.
If you Enable Collapsable Folders you will see a list of folders with a "+" next to the ones with sub folders. Clicking the + will cause the sub folder(s) to show
Show Clock on Folders Panel allows you to select the time and date format you prefer to see. This appears above the folder list.
Hour format allows you to select 12 or 24 hour clock.
Selection List Style allows you to choose how the folder list is displayed - can be useful if you are running out of space.
When you make any changes here, if you do not click on the "Submit" button in the bottom right corner, the changes will not be saved.
