Web based e-Mail personal information  

Here you will find general settings for your mail account. The first one is "Full Name:" This does not have to be your name! This is what will show in the "From"' field in the e-Mail program of the person you send mail to. So it is a good idea to include your company name, to help recipients properly recognize your mail as a genuine mail, not a spam.

The e-Mail address is your e-Mail address, and this helps to prove to mail servers taht you are not a spam. If this address does not match the address you are sending from, many servers will class you as spam, because you are "spoofing" your e-Mail address a practice that spammers often use.

"Reply To:" is the address that the recipient should send replies to. Be aware that some e-Mail programs will ignore this and reply to the "From" address.

"Signature:" is simply a footer applied to every e-Mail you send. Many companies include all their contact details here, so that whenever you send an e-Mail it will automatically add your physical address, web address, e-Mail addresses and phone number(s) to the e-Mail you are sending. See the screen shot for for an example.

"Multiple Identities" - This is a fantastic tool, do you have more than one address going to your account, or more than one beusiness using your domain name. Maybe you use the same address for personal and business use. You can create new identities with this tool - each one has its own Full name, e-Mail address and reply address as well as its own signature file. (you can use the same e-Mail address in all of your identities). When you send a mail, or reply to one, you can select the eidentity you want to use from a drop down menu that appears at the top of the compose screen.

Time Zone - the server is set to Pacific Time Zone (GMT -8) So if that is your time zone, you do not need to modify it. It is important to set this tyo your time zone, otherwise people will be thinking that your mails are heavily delayed, or they are getting them before you even send them!

Reply Citation Options. You can select what happens to the original text in an e-Mail that you are replying to. This can make it easier to see whom said what in a long e-Mail conversation.

Sinature Options. If you do not check the "Use Signature:" box, your signature file will not be appended to the e-MAils that you send out

"Prefix Signature with '--' Line:" Check this box to have web mail put a line of dashes between your e-Mail and your signature file.

Important Note  

When you make any changes here, if you do not click on the "Submit" button in the bottom right corner, the changes will not be saved.
